The Lobster Kings

Uyen’s parents were very generous and sent Anna to California with a ice chest full of lobsters. Bac Uyen slaved over a hot fire all day today. The result:

It's the Journey, Not the Destination (Actually, the Destination Is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G)

Bac Uyen took me on my first international trip outside North and South America. We went to Japan and Korea. It seems like forever since we have gone anywhere outside driving distance. It's funny when you read people's profiles, they always reference "love to travel", but Bac Uyen is one of those rare people that really do (and not just for fluffing their profiles). It's one of the many reasons I love her.

The Story of Uyen and Danh (The Preface)

I've already told the story of how I first met Bac Uyen. What I haven't mentioned is why I chose to meet the boss. Here you go:

I was just searching through my phone for the first picture of THE BOSS. Here you go. This is why I chose to meet Bac Uyen. Isn't she the cutest? Even next to this adorable child, Uyen still competes. Maybe because they're the same size 😆 Love you lots honey! TTQD.

The Tale of Two Salmons (and Three Bobas)

SUNDAY! SUNDAY! SUNDAY! Sundays are great days for lounging around and watching football. Killing time, while worrying about the inevitable Monday that is looming. But in truth, if you don't feel like you've wasted your Sunday, than you're probably not Sundaying right. Anyhow, today my love and I went to our friend's boba shop, Koala Tea Boba in Elk Grove. If anyone reading this is ever in the area, we highly recommend it. Go for one of the specialty drinks. It comes with toppings and you can't go wrong. Boss forgot her mask, so I went into order. Then went out and gave her my mask to pick up the order so she could check out the place. LOL!

So what's the Tale of Two Salmons you ask? Miss Annabanana made salmon for dinner. Sashimi and baked. I don't like salmon, but it was good and I ate it all 😀

Secret Agents: Team Uyen-D

I did not see my baby at all today 😔 But they say time makes the heart grow fonder. I was looking through my phone for an image to share and was touched that my phone can facially recognize Bac Uyen as "Em". I was looking through old photos from September 27 in past years. While most of the images were memorable, but only the last (3) years have been complete. Because only in the last (3) years was Bac Uyen part of my life 💜

The Dos Go Hiking

Bac Uyen loves hiking. Em Danh, not so much. BUT, he always goes when Bac Uyen wants 😆. Having Anna here has already paid dividends. I got some pizza today and Bac Uyen is bringing me some takeout from The City (San Francisco). Yah! And Anna took Bac Uyen hiking. I got the rewards of good food without having to do the work (hiking). 

You're probably asking yourself what this story has to do with our love story. Well, it's just a prime example of what people who love each other do. And I almost forgot the best part. Bac Uyen is bringing me Boba Guys. It may be 3 hours old, but it's still boba. ATEN. Thanks Anna-banana!

Chapter One - How We Met

Not much happened today. We got some amazon packages. We're like an old couple. I got excited over a new garden hose. Bac Uyen gets excited over saving money on a $2.50 box of denture cleaners 😆 I didn't get to see much  of my fiancé, so I guess I'll share a blast from the past. 

I met Uyen at a party around Father's Day. It was awkward, but I specialize in awkward, so I wasn't too worried. We chatted briefly, but with everyone watching (as nonchalantly as they could), not much was said or heard. Anyhow, I decided to go get milk tea. I was thinking of asking Uyen if she wanted to go with me or not, but I figured she just met me, is she really going to want to go? Thought it might be an offensive assumption to ask. Anyhow, I leave. Get milk tea from Cool Tea Bar and when I came back she was gone. Apparently, everyone thought I should have asked her to go and after years of being together she still brings it up that I didn't. Anyhow, times have changed (I don't go to Cool Tea Bar anymore). But who knows, maybe if she went she wouldn't have liked me in that moment. I may have sworn off milk tea as bad luck. But instead I have Uyen and so much better milk tea now. Good times em. TTQD!

The Day After BB (Boss's Birthday)

The Boss's Birthday was quite eventful. Good and bad. The day after? It was also an adventure, fortunately, it was all good. Bac Uyen's sister, Anna, came to visit. She's gonna be here for a while. I'm excited because, the boss will have her family here. She always misses them so I know it will brighten her day. And when the Boss is happy, everyone is happy 😆

We had sushi for dinner. It was good. Not sure what the content or frequency of entries will be, but I'm gonna try my best to post often about the love of my life, Boss Uyen. TTQD.
